Goshawks from the East Ural Mountains in Siberia are the largest and most powerful Goshawks in the World. West of the Ural Mountains birds are tend to be darker and smaller features. Further to the east the albidus subspecies dominate the flat open expanses of eastern Siberia.

Artificial Insemination
After a lot of courtship and nestbuilding, semen is collected from imprinted males. Then selected semen is inseminated into receptive females several times a day during the spring time. Eggs are typically laid in May and June, with chick’s hatching in June and July.
